Tina Irving won a case in the High Court in Belfast self representing as the plaintiff, and is not a lawyer. There is really no point in going to the Law Society of Northern Ireland, or the Bar Council of Northern Ireland. They don’t even know what the Human Rights legislation is, let alone implement it. The Citizens Advice Bureaux will not help you either, in Northern Ireland or in England, even if you live in England. Yet another organisation which takes public money and does not uphold the law, as they don’t even know what it is. This journalist used to work for the Citizens Advice Bureaux. They are good on straightforward cases, but this case of corruption and breach of Human Rights is beyond them. Apparently some solicitors in Northern Ireland don’t know about debt recovery either and would prefer bullying tactics to upholding the law.

She is training to be a McKenzie Friend, focussing on Human Rights so she can assist other people who have legal problems in Northern Ireland. You can follow the adapted course here.

She has recently won two small claims cases, one in England and one in Northern Ireland. She speaks fluent Spanish, and can even point you in the right direction if you have problems in Spain.

Parliament kicked in in June 2022. As we enter 2024 we have made massive progress. These things take time, and this journalist has the patience of Job.
